Church Anniversary Sunday School Ideas

Today more than ever ... The Pastor!

few days ago, a friend of mine sent me an email with a Power Point file . The title was "The Shepherd."

It was a story that happened in an English castle, where at the end of dinner, an actor played and recited poems of Shakespeare.

Among the guests was a priest at one time asked the actor to recite if he knew Psalm 22 (Pastor).

The actor willingly agreed to the request, but not before a change request to recite after the priest.

The priest, he felt uncomfortable but agreed.

Then the actor, began to recite ... ... ... ... ... .. did a beautiful performance with perfect diction ...

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not
In verdant pastures he gives me repose;
leads me
still waters and restores my soul
guides me in paths of righteousness,
for the honor of his name.

Though I walk in the dark valley I fear no evil
, for You are with me:
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. (...)
Surely goodness and mercy
me all the days of my life,
and dwell in the house of the Lord,
for years without end. ".

Those in attendance at the end, they applauded warmly.

came the turn of the priest who stood up and recited the words of the Psalm ... ....

This time, when he finished, there was no applause, but a deep silence and the tears start in a face ... ... ... ...

The actor was silent, then rose and said to all, notably excited ... ..

"Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you have realized what has happened this evening: Psalm
but I knew this man MEET THE PASTOR! ".

I was both surprised and delighted to read and listen to the pps of the Pastor. So much so that I have not known how to reply to this message, it never ceases to amaze me.

For that reason and upon reflection, do the following comment:

Both the priest and the actor, concerned Psalm ......... Pastor who spoke of the same that St. John in the Gospel (Jn 10:11-18):

"I am the good shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives his life for the sheep, the employee, not a pastor and owner of the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf rages and scatters, and is that an employee does not care sheep.

I am the Good Shepherd, who I know mine and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father, I give my life for the sheep.

I have also other sheep that are not of this fold, them also I have to bring, and hear my voice, there shall be one flock, one shepherd.

why the Father loves me because I give my life to recover. No one takes, but I lay it freely. I have power to lay and I have power to recover: the mandate I received from my Father. "

What tells us in the Power Point is unfortunately a fact of life, read, recite either as an actor ..... ........... but do not feel the message. "We know the text and not the shepherd."

This, as I said, it is common for ............. Unfortunately, it happens to many Christians. The proof is in the Our Father. Every day, the Christian, recites and rarely feel it.
"Pordóna our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us ........."

No, as with Psalm 22 ............... .......... ............ and recite the prayer we pray or not pray!.

Moreover, as often happens to us or are we players in the same?. ........

"Lord, forgive me for not come to talk for so long is that I've been busy. Look at the problem I have with the commitments and debts, and I really need that throw me a hand. I promise that I will be grateful, generous, organized and up. "
............
or

" Father, I know I have failed you and I have a lot of time you do not even listen through your Scriptures, but, you know, I've been with this disease that prevents me from doing your work. I need to give me a break to have peace of mind and body. I promise that I will use my strength to do thy will. "

They show what I call "financial prayers" and "prayers or physical illness" that many of us use to "conquer" to God again, when we are "evil", whether physical, economic or emotionally.

are not really "bad sentences, the problem is that they are are unique, and occur once or twice a year, or until the problem or situation exists.

The pity is that we have God as the spare tire, use it only when we are "pinched" tengámoslo as motor vehicle can not move without him.

The Lord is our Shepherd!
